Death of Maeve Binchy

I just want to say a few words about the death of writer and journalist, Maeve Binchy.
She is one person I would love to have met. I could watch her being interviewed from morning until night. Some writers can spout pretentious woffle during interviews, but not Maeve Binchy! She always came across as genuine, funny, warm-hearted and self-effacing.
I remember watching a television play of hers called ‘Deeply Regretted By’ way back in the late 70s and being really impressed by it.
I saw an interview with her last night and it just brought home to me what we’ve lost. A bright light has definitely gone out in Ireland, but at least she has left a marvellous legacy of work for everyone to enjoy.
May she Rest In Peace..
