New Play: One Wife Too Many

I finished my new three-act comedy, ‘One Wife Too Many’ a few weeks ago and have been editing it since. A drama group kindly read it aloud for me last week. I was happy with what I heard.
Plot:
Landscape gardener Shane Clancy is planning to ask his live-in girlfriend, Ellen O’Connell to marry him. Then a colourful young woman, Gemma Giles turns up out of the blue claiming to have had a one-night stand with Shane and that he asked her to marry him. With Ellen away on a hen’s weekend, Shane desperately tries to sort out the mess before she gets back. But the more he tries, the more complicated things become.
Characters:
Shane Clancy – a landscape gardener in his thirties
Ellen O’Connell – Shane’s girlfriend
Donie O’Toole – A dodgy friend of Shane’s
Gemma Giles – a mouthy, colourful young woman
Violet O’Connell – Ellen’s strident mother
Rory O’Connell – Ellen’s father, who has a roving eye
Valerie Ross – a flirtatious widow
Katy Lynn – a friend of Ellen’s
