My plays at the festivals

Following last night’s performance at the New Ross Drama Festival, Ballycogley Players have jus two more drama festivals in which to compete: Ballinamore DF on Saturday, March 10th and South Wicklow DF (in Carnew) on March 15th.
So far, Mary Doyle has won the Best Actress award (in the Confined Section) for her role as Tess McDermott in ‘Mother Knows Best’ at Kilmuckridge DF; Con Doyle has won an award for Best Comedy Performance for his role as Harry McDermott in the same play; and the group also won a Special Adjudicator’s Award. Congrats and best wishes to all concerned.
Meanwhile, Shannonside Drama Clonlara take to the stage with ‘The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley’ in the Tipperary Drama Festival (in Holycross) on March 17th; and in the Clare Drama Festival (in Scariff) on March 23rd.
Tonight, however, they start a three-night run with the play at home in Clonlara.
