My Visit To Portumna On Sunday Night

My mother and I went to Portumna on Sunday night last to see the Portumna Players’ production of ‘The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley’.
It was an excellent production but then I wouldn’t expect anything else from director Marian Frawley – who had previously directed two more of my plays – and from the cast, who have a great reputation in drama circles.
The audience was in a very receptive mood, too. Some members had tears rolling down their cheeks with the laughter – a delight to see in these difficult times.
I hope I’ll be able to eventually get a dvd of the production, which runs for two more nights, Friday, 21st January and Sunday, 23rd January. But, if not, I will still have my cherished memories of last Sunday night’s wonderful performance.
I would like to finish by thanking everyone for the kindness and hospitality which they showed to myself and my mother..
