1. MURDER AT GOSSIP CENTRAL
Taking early retirement from the Civil Service and moving to the sleepy West of Ireland village of Tullyhooley, Paschal McHugh and his wife Samantha Twain become involved in the search for missing priest’s housekeeper, Primrose Twoddle. Her disappearance may be linked to the midday meetings of the three village gossips in the parochial house kitchen when forensic character assassination takes place.
2. THE LAST OF THE RED HOT STRIPPERS
Following the success of their first investigation, Paschal and Samantha set up a detective agency over the laundrette in Tullyhooley. Their first case involves the disappearance of a male stripper, Mr. Majestic during a rowdy hen’s night.
3. FINDERS KEEPERS
Paschal finds a scratch card with €10,000 on it and claims the prize. Then local spinster, Goretti Gilhooley, who has the looks and personality of a Tasmanian Devil, asks him to find her missing lottery ticket, which she claims was stolen by her sister, Bunty.
4. SOMEWHERE THERE’S A WOMAN FOR EVERY MAN
Paschal and Samantha’s camping trip is abruptly interrupted when a plane carrying a cargo of inflatable women crash lands nearby causing a stampede among local bachelor farmers and leading to a series of gruesome murders.
5. TASTE A BUTTERED SCONE AND DIE
Jam maker and knitter-extraordinaire, Marcella McGillycuddy’s decision to write a lurid expose of the Tullyhooley ICA Guild leads to frowns across the buttered scones, pursed lips and murder.
6. THE PHANTOM OF THE WESTERN WORLD: PART 1
Terror ensues when Vivaldi O’Hara, the cutting-edge director of the Tullyhooley Drama Group proposes staging ‘The Playboy of the Western World’ on roller skates.
7. THE PHANTOM OF THE WESTERN WORLD: PART 2
Paschal and Samantha are baffled as fears among the cast grow that a saboteur is at work when Pegeen Mike’s skates are over-greased and she hurtles off the stages during one of her emotional speeches.
8. THE CROOKED PATH
Pensioner Aloysius Kilfeather suspects that his wife, Assumpta is having a sordid affair when she buys a zimmer frame with wheels and he asks Samantha to follow her. Meanwhile Paschal is behaving very suspiciously.
9. THE GHOST OF THE CELTIC TIGER
A businessman’s attempts to turn a local haunted house into a theme park end in murder.
10. THE COUNCIL OF FEAR
Just as Samantha is elected onto the Tullyhooley Parish Council, local busybody Tilly O’Toole makes an allegation of bribery and corruption. Next day, Tilly receives a stuffed horse’s head in the post.
11. THIS IS NO GAME FOR MICKEY MOUSE
The murder of one of Paschal’s informants leads the detective couple to the seamy world of mouse racing.
12. FRIDAY NIGHT IS A NIGHT OF FEAR
Paschal’s Friday night poker session takes a dramatic turn when the players are robbed at gunpoint by a thief in an Angela Merkel mask. Paschal is later accused of being the inside man when some of the loot is found in his car.
13. CAT AMONGST THE PAMPERED POOCHES
Terror strikes at the local Parish Fete when someone releases Fluffy the Persian cat into the dog show arena and competition judge, Daphne Lemmington-Bassett is trampled to death during the ensuing melee. Paschal and Samantha investigate and discover that the murder is linked to an organization called the League Against Snobs.
14. THE MURDERER EXITS STAGE LEFT
Paschal joins a group of theatrical luvvies from the Tullyhooley Drama Group for a weekend of improvisation and navel gazing at a remote country house. But a sinister figure in a William Shakespeare mask is lurking in the shadows.
15. A GREEN WAY TO GO
Paschal and Samantha investigate the bizarre murder of Imogen Swallow, who is brutally bludgeoned to death with a frozen cucumber while hosting a Coffee Morning in aid of the Green Party.
16. THE RECORD BUSINESS IS MURDER
Paschal and Samantha are asked to chaperone pop sensation, ‘Cheesy Smile’, who are a hit phenomenon with pre-pubescent girls, who have just discovered boys and spots. Then one of the group is kidnapped? Or is it a publicity stunt by the band’s flamboyant manager, Claude Pratt.
17. I KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN YESTERDAY
Paschal is sued by clairvoyant, Desdimona Potts when he knocks her down while chasing a jewel thief. She claims that since the accident she can only see events that happened in the past. Paschal is guilt-ridden and wants to pay up, but Samantha suspects a con.
18. THE RIGHT MAN IN THE WRONG PLACE
Paschal’s reputation is at stake when he inadvertently helps a gang of bank robbers to escape after he stops to help them fix their getaway car.
19. MY HOBBIES ARE SWIMMING, KEEP FIT AND KILLING PEOPLE
Paschal and Samantha investigate a series of gruesome killings at the ‘Miss Busty But Dim’ Beauty Contest.
20. LABYRINTH: PART 1
When a whistle-blower named Thelma claims that there are dark deeds afoot in the local offices of the County Council, Paschal and Samantha go undercover to investigate.
21. LABYRINTH: PART 2
As Paschal and Samantha investigate Thelma’s claims, they discover that the offices are a hotbed of simmering sexual tension, frustrated ambitions, crocheted cardigans and bad coffee. Then Thelma’s body is found in suspicious circumstances at the bottom of a flight of stairs clutching a diamond-shaped button in her hand.
22. LABYRINTH: PART 3
Who murdered poor whining, Fair City-fixated Thelma? The finger of suspicion begins to point to buttoned-up supervisor, Hilary Mallory. Paschal decides to try and get close to her, but she hates men. Can he win her over with a bunch of flowers and small box of Ferrero Rocher?
23. LABYRINTH: PART 4
Paschal and Samantha’s investigations lead to the sinister and deadly Cult of the Shoulder Shrug where members have to swear a bloody oath to frustrate the public and take a perverted, sadistic pleasure in losing application forms and files.
24. CALL OF NATURE
Paschal and Samantha are called in to investigate an apparent act of sabotage when the grand opening of Tullyhooley’s first Environmentally-Friendly Public Toilet goes awry and a number of Council officials, including the Lady Mayoress are trapped inside.
25. GOODBYE MR. SNIP
Samantha investigates the brutal murder of the owner of a Mobile Dog Grooming Salon and discovers that the only witness is a half-trimmed, ill-tempered poodle named Peanut.
26. SENSITIVE TO THE TOUCH
Paschal and the local Garda Sergeant are kidnapped and left in a field, which has been booby-trapped with explosives and one wrong move will mean death. Then Paschal realises that there was something dodgy about the hamburger he had for lunch…..
