Paschal and Samantha Investigate: Season 3

More storylines featuring Ireland’s most unusual husband-and-wife detective duo.
1. WHEN THERE’S A MURDER IN THE MONTH
When Paschal agrees to pose nude for the Private Detectives’ Charity Calendar, he becomes the target for a sadistic killer, who is picking off the detectives month by month. Can Samantha find the killer before he or she reaches May?
2. SHREDS
The temperature in the McHugh household descends to that of a Siberian winter when Paschal accidentally shreds a report which Samantha has been working on for weeks – a report which links a local Councillor to a shady property developer. Can Paschal make amends or is he condemned to the spare room forever?
3. HELL HATH NO FURY
The men of Tullyhooley are in the firing line when fifty-something, Bessie Hogg forms the militant organization known as the Spinsters Against Sex after being jilted at the altar. Samantha dons a wig, baggy stockings and horn-rimmed spectactles in order to infiltrate the group and bring their reign of terror to an end.
4. SLAY BELLS
Paschal and Samantha investigate a series of grisly killings in Tullyhooley in the days leading up to Christmas. The finger of suspicion points to an elf in Santa’s Grotto in a local supermarket.
5. KILLER OF THE AIRWAVES
Paschal’s talk on Crime Prevention on Radio Tullyhooley takes a deadly turn when the show’s host is murdered on air. Can Paschal solve the crime and redeem his reputation?
6. THE PEN THAT WROTE WITH BLOOD
Paschal and Samantha investigate the murder of flamboyant author, Crispin Lovejoy, who had claimed that his creation, ‘Goldie the Goldfish’ had been plagiarized by fellow writer, Montgomery Drysdale.
7. THE CHILD OF SATAN
Paschal and Samantha become bodyguards to repulsive and precocious child star, Juniper Mayhew, who has been receiving unwanted attention following her appearance in the film, ‘The Devil Is My Daddy’.
8. THE MURDERING CROWD
When a wealthy socialite is murdered at a Bridge Club Coffee Morning, Samantha goes undercover to investigate the killing and discovers that the knives are out among Tullyhooley’s social elite.
9. LAMENT FOR A DEAD STOOL PIGEON
Paschal is sceptical when one of his informants, Louis the Lip tells him that a notorious Dublin criminal gang is planning to muscle in on Irish Dancing Schools in and around Tullyhooley. However, he is forced to think again when Louis is murdered in the local laundrette.
10. MURDER IS CHILD’S PLAY
The melody in a child’s wind-up toy leads Paschal into the murky world of spies and alluring double-dealing temptresses as he investigates a series of murders in a newly-opened toy shop in Tullyhooley.
11. KNOW THINE ENEMY
A tax inspector believes someone is trying to kill him and asks Paschal and Samantha for help. While Paschal nervously draws up a long list of suspects, Samantha worries about those dresses and holidays she claimed as expenses.
12. THE BODY ON THE LAWN
Paschal and Samantha return from holiday to find a dead chiropodist on their front lawn with a cryptic note written in lipstick clutched in his hand.
13. MURDER A LA MODE
The conservative members of Tullyhooley ICA Guild are targeted by a serial killer, who is a self-proclaimed fashion expert and who believes these women have no sense of style. Can Paschal and Samantha prevent the Guild’s forthcoming talk on Daisy Chain Making taking a deadly turn?
14. THE GUY WHO WORKS DOWN IN THE PIZZERIA SWEARS HE’S MELVIN
Paschal gets a tip-off from dotty pensioner, Daisy O’Dwyer that a notorious Dublin gangster, who has been believed dead for ten years, is working in Luigi’s Pizzeria under an assumed name.
15. I CAN’T WORK TODAY, I’M DEAD
While working on their new extension, Paschal and Samantha’s builder is shot and killed by a one-armed hit-man.
16. THE TULLYHOOLEY TRIANGLE
Paschal and Samantha investigate the mysterious disappearance of a number of GATSO vans in an area known as the Tullyhooley Triangle.
17. DOWN THE AISLE TO THE CEMETERY: PART 1
Tullyhooley’s first gay wedding between hairdresser Julian Sweet and impresario Donovan Carlisle ends in tragedy when Donovan’s pet budgie, ‘Beethoven’ dies after nibbling some icing on the wedding cake and falling into a guest’s glass of bubbling champagne.
18. DOWN THE AISLE TO THE CEMETERY: PART 2
As Paschal and Samantha investigate the death of Donovan’s pet budgie, the chef has to be given a sedative as his cake is taken away for forensic examination. Later, events take an even more sinister turn as Donovan’s body is found beside the chocolate fountain. The finger of suspicion points at Julian’s ex-wife, Lucretia, who holds a grudge against Donovan and a degree in chemistry.
19. MURDER IN BLACK
An attractive nun in stilettos with a Gucci handbag is Paschal and Samantha’s only lead in the bizarre murders of a financial consultant, a French hairdresser and a penniless street musician.
20. THERAPY WITH A BULLET
Paschal and Samantha face a tense situation when a psychiatrist they are investigating has a nervous breakdown and takes his patient – the Lady Mayoress’ poodle, Fifi – hostage.
21. THE KILLER DIDN’T LAUGH
Paschal and Samantha investigate the murder of a noted practical joker, whose killing may be linked to his latest prank when he substituted his elderly neighbour’s Viagra tablets with indigestion pills.
22. MURDER IS NO GAME FOR SWINGERS
Paschal becomes jealous when Samantha and a handsome Detective Garda go undercover as a married couple to investigate a series of brutal killings at uninhibited wife-swopping parties.
23. FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES
Paschal and Samantha suspect that the men playing the pantomime cow in a local production of Jack and the Beanstalk are behind a daring Post Office robbery in a nearby town. But the men swear they were at a costume party given by the local Garda Superintendent at the time.
24. MIME A SONG OF MURDER: PART 1
Due to a booking error, pop sensation ‘Cheesy Grin’ are playing at the Weeping Willow Home for Melancholy Gentle Folk and causing a number of minor heart attacks and stress-related incidents. During the confusion, Chaz, the lead singer with the band witnesses the brutal murder of the Director of the Home, Fenella Hardwick.
25. MIME A SONG OF MURDER: PART 2
With a killer on the loose and Chaz the only witness against him, Paschal and Samantha are called in to protect the toothy lead singer. But which is more dangerous – the killer or the marauding 11-year-old fans?
26. A WHISPER IN THE SHADOWS
Paschal and Samantha are the victims of a series of hoaxes and mishaps, which are starting to affect their business..
